AFL-CIO Recognizes ODSA for Attorney Diversity. At its annual conference in May 2012, the AFL-CIO's Lawyers Coordinating Committee recognized O'Donnell, Schwartz & Anderson, P.C. for promoting diversity in and among union lawyers. ODSA satisfied all four criteria considered by the LCC including hiring and retention of attorneys of color; participating in the LCC's Minority Outreach Program and sending law clerks to the program's conference; mentoring law students and attorneys of color; and actively participating in minority law student and minority bar association events. ODSA is proud of its attorney diversity track record and honored to accept the LCC's recognition for its efforts. ADC Awards Anton Hajjar the 2012 ADC Pro-Bono Attorney of the Year Award. On June 22, 2012, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, the nation's largest Arab-American civil rights organization, recognized ODSA Principal Anton Hajjar for his outstanding commitment in serving the Arab-American community and his unwavering assistance to the ADC Legal Department.

The American Law Institute Interviews ODSA Principal Anton Hajjar. The ALI was established in 1923 to promote the clarification and simplification of American common law and its adaptation to changing social needs. The ALI drafts, approves, and publishes Restatements of the Law, Principles of the Law, model codes, and other proposals for law reform. Membership in the American Law Institute is limited to 4000 judges, lawyers, and legal scholars selected based on factors such as professional achievement, personal character, and demonstrated interest in improving the law. Anton Hajjar has been a member of the ALI since 2002, and was elected to the ALI's Council in 2010.     <read more>
